Rattling headlight housing...

Just a quick note that for the past few weeks, I've noticed a rattle coming from the front of my Nomad.

Finally pin-pointed it to the headlight housing. The two screws were slightly loose causing it to rattle at certain RPM's.

Every now and then, check your headlight screws to make sure they are good and tight.

I caught my rear turn signal bar about to fall off. I recall someone else reporting this on their Nomad about a year ago so I checked it then and was okay, but did not tighten. Then, just a couple weeks ago one bolt had come completely undone and it was hanging by the other. This time I really snugged them up and that should take care of that, although did not use locktite, which would be the next step.

For newer members - there have been a lot of reports of lose bolts, and clamps on these bikes. They are almost completely assembled from the crate by the local dealer and for some reason their torque wrenches don't seem to work so well. Quite common are lose radiator drain plugs, engine mount bolts and hose clamps and maybe I'll through the rear tail light bar into that list.

Hi, I think it might have been me that reported the rear turn signal bar coming loose. When I got home after a ride the turn bar was hanging on an angle. If I remember correctly the bolts are contained by another cover and cannot fall out completely. These bolts are under the fender.

Yes, the cover under the fender is easy to take off with an open or closed end wrench and does catch the lose parts. The bar is shock mounted so is hard to tell if it is tight or not by just feeling it.

Hi, Take a look under the fender, you will figure it out from there.

I have the Dealer "PDI" Assembly manual on pdf. PM me if you would like a copy so you can go over what was done. I forget where I found it but will gladly give it to whoever wants it.
