Stebel wards off peaceful driver

3 times in the last month, the Stebel has come in VERY handy.

Riding last in a line in the left lane today slowly overtaking right lane cars, I came up on a slow-lane minivan that was plastered with bumper stickers.

I first recognized the "co-exist," so my attitude started forming. Then, I saw the "War is not the answer*" decal. There was some small writing beneath it, but I didn't have time to read it because I was now just about even with the back quarterpanel.

And, lo & behold, here came the peacable one into my lane. I swerved to the left side of my lane, leaned on the Stebel, and watched her startled reaction. I didn't feel like flashing her the peace sign.

*A couple years ago, I asked a sign carrier with the "War is not the answer" slogan, "What IS the answer?" Within a couple back-and-forths, I was deemed a "war-mongering whore." It rendered me speechless, so I guess she won.

I guess I'll install Stebel or WoLo horns on my Nomad and the Wife's Yamaha this winter.

We have Stebel's on both bikes, they are awesome.

Bob, Actually "War is not the answer". . . Victory IS. We should allow the troops we send to win their battles. F#%& the politicly correct crap and kick some A$$.

I agree with all , I still have factory horns on my nomad, they are getting changed this winter and as far as that war is not the answer Markclark57 is right let the boy win the game.

Has anyone had any trouble with the Stebel horns ? webBikeWorld had a bad review on them said they did not last thru the testing. http://www.webbikeworld.com/motorcyc...ebel-nautilus/

I think these might look good mounted on the left side of the engine in place of the factory air cleaner............

These are my favorite about 10 inches long on the longest one.

My Stebel works like a charm! Loud and definitely gets the four wheelers attention. If you don't have one, get one now! They are fairly inexpensive at twisted throttle.

Tom,

This is my second Vulcan that I've put them on. I have had no trouble, but I did read once that they had to be vertical (or within a specific tolerance of vertical) for internal lubrication. Mine have been vertical.

I read that article and I think webBikeWorld must not have installed them correctly.

I installed mine on the Windshield chrome above the left "Chuckster" triple light. Patricia's is @ the stock horn tab on the left side. @ 130 decibel either one does well. We both got the chrome ones. They have several models and finishes.

I bought my VN1600 used this past July. It has loads of mods on it already and the original owner must have believed the Loud Pipes BS because it had a loud set of unbaffled V&H Bigshot. But I'll give him credit that he also had installed a Stebel horn kit and that thing is LOUD when it needs to be. Anyone else ever seen a Stebel horn mounted behind what looks to be a left side air cleaner:

In my opinion neither this post nor any other that resorts to name-calling, unsupported statements of so-called facts or uses foul language should be allowed on this forum.
