Stock Grips

I know this sounds like a silly question, but is it possible to take the clutch side grip off of the stock bars? I have a 2014 Vaquero, and the bar end seems to be molded to the bar. I wanted to ask before I started applying pressure. I have a new set of bars and I wanted to reuse the stock grips. Thank you in advance for your help.

On my 2015 Voyager I changed out to Ray's Throttle Mod and I could not get the left side off without damage. It is threaded on and very tight to say the least.

You might check into Ray's mod since you are already changing the bars and do have to remove the grips.

I thought it was threaded, but since I couldn't get it to break free with my hand, I wasn't sure. Thanks for the info.

I think you'll find that side is reverse threaded?

Left side chrome bar end is left-hand thread, turn to right to remove. It is plastic and will have loctite on the thread and may break if you put enough twist to it. Does your new handlebar have threads on the end? If not you won't be reusing that cap anyway.

As has been said the chrome end cap on the left grip is separate from the rubber portion and is screwed onto the handlebar with reverse threads. The cap is on there tite and is usually boogered up in the removal process. That end cap is available from Kawi separately.

If you would like a more comfy set of grips now's the good time to install them with the bars, and incorporate my throttle mod also as that will improve throttle response.
