New back rest and rack

over a year ago I ordered a inexpensive trunk off of ebay, while the trunk has worked great and met my needs it originaly came with a VERY firm and hard back pad for the passenger. Since the wife and I are riding to Maggie Valley in July for a Vulcan reunion I decided to order a better back rest pad and a rack to mount to my trunk. I ordered these off ebay and I'm pretty happy with both of them. The new pad has allot more foam in it and should be much more comfortable for the wife.

I have the same and my wife likes it very well. She still has reservations about no armrests or hand rails though.

really, ya know, my wife really liked the grab rails on the nomad backrest brackets but she's fine on the back of the vaquero, doesn't seem to miss them at all.

Very nice. As you may have read in my other posts, my wife will not ride with me after the deer accident, she won't even get on it. Soooo, I ended up going for the driver backrest option and assumed I would NEVER have a passenger (she won't let my kids on it either). That's a nice set-up though......

Will she let your girl friend ride with you?

The wifes girlfriend likes to ride too. Sometimes the seating arrangements can get a little tricky.

Kind of hard to ride them all at once--I mean take them all for a ride at once.

I'd be very interested in the brand/model of trunk you bought - looks like it goes on the quick mounts. I haven't found very much 3rd party stuff that uses the KQR system and I need either a rack or box for road trips.

Taz I have the same trunk from my 900. What bracket did you attach to the KQR mounts? I would like to make a set up like that for my bike. Did you use the kawi luggage rack, if so what did you use to fill the gap securely btween the brackets and the rack? If you have some pictures I would appreciate seeing them.
Thanks jeff
