Cruzin around town

So I was waxing my ride, shining up the chrome when I noticed what looked like specs of rust on the chrome plate behind the windshield at the headlight. Horror of horrors! How did that get there? There was no way I could get to it because of the windshield, so the windshield had to come off. That's the first time in a couple of years that I had it off.

I used steel wool to lightly remove the rust specs before applying chrome polish. I was amazed how much dirt was behind there. I kept going and took off the lower shields as well. I never really noticed, but the windshield really blocked the view of my Phat II risers. After a shine, I liked the look so much I think I will keep it that way for awhile. At least until my next road trip.

Yup, that looks good! Don't worry about eating bugs, they are a good source of protein anyway ... maybe need a little ketchup!

The windshield goes back on for a road trip. Around town, I don't worry about bugs, even though they are a source of protein, yuck

There are few motorcycles that lend themselves to looking sexy like the Nomad does.
No matter what configuration.

Ain't that the truth. She certainly has the best curves! I've often thought about a trade-in over the years. Maybe a Harley or Victory. But in the end, I just can't do it. She's been so reliable, so comfortable, so much fun. We've been together for 7 years and I just can't part with her. Am I talking about my wife or my bike? I get confused

I really like that solo look with no saddlebag rails. Very nice looking bike. The handlebars look old school, like a James Dean or The Fonze style!!

Yes, old school. That was my first thought when the windshield came off. There's a lot of chrome there in the front. It's sort of hidden. Same for the Phat II risers. I don't know if it would be the same with the stock risers.

I've been riding mine without the windshield since early spring, even on the slab. Never thought I would like riding without it as much as I do. On my trip to Arkansas I did put it back on, wind does zip your energy on long trips.

Well that didn't take long. I went out for a ride without the windshield and got on the slab a bit. I could only get up to around 60 mph before I felt like my helmet was blowing off. Couldn't hear the engine at all at that speed.

Oh man, I'm spoiled. Windshield is back on now.
