Thanks
I picked the 1500 classic up about two mouths ago for $650.00 so, I thought it would be a good bobber project. I have about $ 1600.00 in her now. |

Bobber nice - really came to comment on the Vaquero bag lights - super cool - is that how they came original? Thinking of trying something like that on my 04 Nomad

I cut the wholes in the bags with a whole saw. I covered the back of the bags with painters tape and measured from top to bottom and left to right to find the center and made my mark. The tape was encase I slipped, did not want to damage the bags. The lights are super bright. Run/turn |

I like the Chevron Color. I actually seen lights about the same shape as the triangle amber sticker/paint. I will try and find them for you.
Thanks |

Cool, keep an eye open I'd appreciate that. If not triangular then an inverted teardrop would work too. Thx

Thanks,
The pipes are freedom Performance. If you haven't heard of them: the company was once I believe affiliated with Rhine Hart. Anyway they have a nice deep rumble sound to them and when you give her the gas they wakeup. I contacted them when I first got the bike through a shop here in Panama City FL. The reason black because after cleaning all the chrome I had on my roar Star I was done. Also black pipes look better on the Black Vaqueros. I am running a power commander v with ignition Control and a Chucksters instate kit with my stock covers. I got the bike Dynoed in Enterprice AL. It seems to give it a good power boost. The Pipes cost between $ 900 and $ 1,100 dollars, Chucksters I believe about $ 180.00 and the Power Commander $350.00. Dyno $ 250.00. The handle Bars came from Dmyers here on our forums, he is very good to work with. They are 12 x 1.25 inch Apes. Very well made. I believe I paid $250.00. If you want to run the wires through the Bars yourself. It will be quite a challenge. There are 19 wires running through the left bar and 17 running through the right with a total of 72 solder joints. It was a Bear pulling all those wires through. Before I began I asked the dealer what would they charge to do it they said, about 7 hours of labor at $65.00 an hour. (455.00) So, It can be a little pricy. All in all it was worth the effort, time and money. Hope that helps. |
