Update on my bike Gibby...

My bike was finally finished yesterday... late (they had this thing for a week)

Final analysis:

Brake light relay defective: replaced (Relay was replaced before on a recall. Seems the relay remains defective to me.)

Tires with over 14k on them: replaced

Check engine light: Code was for front engine cylinder running rich. Concluded I needed to switch-out to new mufflers for more air-flow (To match my high-flow breather and engine re-map for that).
The BUDS analysis shows the engine to be running correctly now. So maybe that was the problem -- we'll see. I certainly feels a bit more powerful... or at least it sounds like it is. These pipes are not super loud and are legal in all 50 states... but I am certain TC would still be pissed at me.

Fluid changes: Had them go ahead and do the change-out while they had it. I know... I should have done that myself -- especially after seeing the bill!!!!! (Geez... I am going into the motorcycle fluid-change business! Maybe like a Jiffy-Lube for bikes only. )

The nice thing about a HD dealer is that they also wash and polish the bike before you pick it up. They have always done a good job at it, so I let them do it. It looked great.

Doing a three-day ride with a buddy who works for HD promotions out of Milwaukee. I didn't want my bike to have any problems while riding with him -- although, I suppose he should be more embarrassed than I if that were to occur.

Besides riding, we are going to a Brewers game. Apparently, HD has an entire area in the stadium called the HD Deck. It is kind-of cool, in that they have a parking area specifically designed for motorcycle parking only. Hey... it's free... and I am going!

Should be a fun few days...

Headed out to put a few miles on now...

Great to hear you got the Ultra back and everything is good. With a high flow air filter and a re-map you should have high flow mufflers, breaths much better and should run a bit cooler too. Enjoy your trip and the Brewers game. Tell Kendra I had to give her a hard time, it is my duty as a friend of yours

Ha! Yeah... I will. Seems that some arguments cannot be won no matter what!

Ha! No... I have my own to worry about... thank you...

The thing does run a lot better now than it did. Certainly more power than previously. However, it should for the bill I just paid... Geez...

Stopped-by one of the larger HD dealers in the country today.

They have a separate addition to the dealership to sell Triumphs. You don't see that very often. I checked them out. Up close they look like they are well-made bikes (good looking paint, chrome and etc); and their prices are pretty reasonable for as much "bike" as you get. Don't know much about them though with regards to how well they hold-up. However, if anyone is looking at bikes, they should at least look at the new Triumphs.

Thought of you though when there, BD...

Greg, if the pipes are not super loud and are legal in all 50 states what would make you think I would be pissed.
I would just have to ride ahead of you

Well TC... I am a bit like you, only a bit younger and cantankerous! I don't like loud pipes... never did. However, I had to get new ones to get more air-flow because of my earlier efforts to cool the engine a bit.

I was told they were not that loud in comparison to others, and legal in all fifty states... but they are definitely loud in my opinion.

I took a decent ride today, and every time I turned the throttle and heard the rumble I thought... "Oh man... TC is going to be pissed!"

I'll ride behind you any day. That's usually where most want me to ride anyway...

The pipes are probably like the ones on my drifter.
I think they are loud and I have put two sets of baffles in them.
Cindy likes the sound though.

Well... the good thing is now people will be able to hear me and not run into me!

(Did that comment light a fire? )
