camera is bouncing

I mounted a helmet cam to the crash bars and it is on there tight. There is no movement but when riding the bike and recording the video seems to be bouncing.

Thumbs Up

Hi
I have a GOPRO Hero2 & when I had my Nomad, I mounted the camera using the adhesive mount on the clutch fluid reservoir. That option gave me excellent results. I also put a piece of tape over the mike that is on top of the GOPRO.
Good luck!

I have a fairing so putting it anywhere other than the crash bars won't work.

I have a Go Pro 2 and a very ridged mount causes that "fluttering" You'll have to find a better location. That's why you see these things mounted to helmets and arms. They don't bounce.

I have a tachyon HD and use a RAM mount on the handle bars. I also used it on the engine guards. I'm sure the tachyon weighs a lot less then the Go Pro .
Just how bad is the bouncing?
This is how much I get.

I get sea sick watching the video. I'll post a video tomorrow. I'm using the Tachyon XC.

I think the engine may be interfering with it. If I hit a bump it doesn't shake. It seems to only shake when I accelerate.

Took it off and tried to find a mounting place on the handlebars. No go. I would have to raise it 7 inches from the bars to see past the fairing. Tried the rear bag crash bars and didn't fit. Not enough room. Wasn't meant to be on there I guess.

I've seen that before, that's straight up engine vibration, not bouncing. I think you have the right idea trying to find somewhere else not attached to the engine mounts (at least I think the crash bars are...) or at least a bit further away. The picture on that cam looks great otherwise!

Just watched your video...I bought one of those $29 video camers from the dollar store in Ajo, Az....mounted it on my bike and the video was just like yours...all distorted during movement...I think it's the 'frame-rate" of those cheapy camera's...if you can set a faster frame rate it might help...or go to a higher quality camera --I have a double hand me down -early model,GO PRO..that two other owners couldnt make work...and I cant make it work either..so be advised that a good idea would be to talk to others who use "biking camera's' befor investing
... GOOD LUCK !

OK! I think I know what your problem is, either you are riding a Harley or your camera thinks your riding a Harley.

That is bad, What kind of mounting bracket are you using and is it tight?
