Looking for tank info

I know the option of adding an auxiliary tank on a rack, but I am looking for info on a bigger main tank.

Somewhere on the boards is a post with a link to a company that makes a bigger tank for the nomad. Anyone have that link?

The search engine sucks :(" title="" border="0"/>

I don;t have it, but do remember seeing it somewhere. Have you checked Gadgets Fixit site? They took a tank, cut the sides off and added a couple strips to widen it. I think it holds about an additional gallon of fuel.

Actually I looked at Harleys but bank for the buck for what I need the nomad won hands down. Even if I was to add a tour pak and fairing I am still coming in a lot less then a Harley. I like Harleys I just don't like the price.

I am a smoker yeah yeah I want to quit. How much danger is there to flicking a hot ash over a tour pak with an auxiliary tank in it? they have a vented cap so not exactly the way i want to add flames to a bike.

I am going to have to go through every thread until I find that link :'(

I can usually get about 180 miles on a tank of gas, by then I don't mind getting off to stretch my legs for a few minutes.

Google is your friend when you lose the bookmark :) I used to have this page bookmarked. I think there is another manufacturer but I'm not sure.

IMO a 1500 will want fuel at 138 miles, and a 1600 will at 178. When I crossed the USA , I didn't have any problem finding gas really, but a few times I bought gas I didn't think I could trust. Turned out I was wrong, but in some places the high test was 84 octane.....

It is nice to have some extra mileage when pulling the trailer or on an IBA ride. That is why I added the auxiliary tank to my bike.

I am with Gibby on having a tank that needs to be emptied, before my gas tank is empty!
But I saw a neat little outfit a couple weeks ago. Two guys; one on one of them wierd looking multi purpose bikes with tool boxes for saddle bags (a BMW I think)and the other on a Harley both had this little rack/arm like looking thing on the back of their bikes and they had 1 1/2 gallon gas containers that looked like pizza boxes with a center hole hanging on them. They said they were outfitting to go into North Central Canada and had to be able to do 300 miles between gas stops. The Harley guy said he needed 2 containers to do it but was going to do the max of 3 cause the whole set up was less than $100. An extra 4 1/2 gallons would make a Nomads range over 300 miles. And it loocked like it would take 10 minutes to remove the thing when you were just running around town.
