What exactly is the speed-o-healer? What does it do? What year Nomad does it effect?

It corrects the speedometer error at the cost of odometer accuracy. Personally, I would rather do a little math in my head than have an inaccurate odometer.

There's always a tradeoff of some kind. I'm with CJ, I can do the math easy enough.

One of the problems with metric bikes is if left uncorrected for every thousnad miles actually traveled you put eleven hundred on the odometer. Why should you have to do math to figure out how fast your going when all you have to do is look at the speedometer. I've installed three Speed-O-Healers and wouldn't be without one. If it's a question of a warranty expiring at the 24,000 mile mark you could end up with 22,600 actual miles on the bike, not 24,000.

I was always under the impression that the speedo is off, but the odometer is accurate, and the result of using the speedo healer is the opposite. I admit I've never used one, but if someone has experience with them, I defer to their opinion.

I don't know yet but I hope new rear tire 180/70/16 will fix it.

Unless you plan on making a radical change in tire hieght it wont make any difference. Nomad speedometers are usually between 10% and 15% off. The one on my 07 was 10% off. In order to do 70MPH my speedo had to read 77MPH. I checked it with a GPS and Georgia State Police radar. I don't know why the manufacturers do it, but they are aware of it and most of the time they wont admit it. I do know they tell you to run 33 to 36 PSI in the front tire and it's a proven fact that while 40 PSI extends tire life, 33 PSI gives you a more comfortable ride.
