Fairing on Nomad 1600

I've seen a number of Vulcan Nomads with the Electra Glide (HD) fairing installed.

I've also seen where you can get the brackets from Lee Sido. I've been to his web page and only see where the available brackets are for the 1500 nomad and the 1600 classic.

My question is, does anyone have a location for the 1600 Nomad brackets and/or the design specs so that I could have them fabricated?

I have an '06 1600 Nomad.

Thanks in advance,

Id get in touch with Lee, theres a good chance that the ones for the classic may work with the Nomad as well. If you go with a Premeux fairing, it bolts right on with no problems at all.

I've sent a couple of messages to Lee, no response yet, figure he may be at Sturgis......

I've seen the Premeux fairing... looks nice, just don't want to spend that type of money... without knowing if I want a fairing or not....

I've looked at the front end for the classic and the nomad and they are very different, so not sure if the classic would work or not...

Thanks

I think lee's brackets are for mounting the outer fairing only, but I could be wrong. The Premeux fairing has an inner part that bolts to the bike, and the outer part bolts to it.

Lee does make brackets for both the inner and outer fairing. In the description is lists brackets for the 96-up inner and outer fairing, and at the bottom of the description is says available for the 1500 Nomad only. Site is a bit confusing (http://vulcanbrackets.com/Home_Page.html). He was apparently working on 1600 brackets at one point, he had promised them to a guy I know.

Good luck getting them though, I waited the better part of a year and repeated attempts to contact him with no response before I made my own brackets. I know that Lee is very busy and he does this on the side, but I did not appreciate the no contact and waiting that many others have also reported.

Strobe, do you have the specs for the brackets that you made?

Thanks in advance.

I have the templates and instructions I used posted on my web site:

http://nomad.nmsolutions.ca/hdfairing.php

You will need somewhere that can print a unscaled 11" x 17" PDF though to print the template.

Take a look and let me know if you have questions. I have not had time to update the site with the finished results.

No they won't fit, the Harley ones are larger, both wider and taller. I was looking into this a few years ago myself and figured that it would be a lot of cutting, fitting and fibreglassing involved. I was looking at the lowers from an Ultra, I think HD makes the lowers in two or three different configurations, but unless your good with fibreglass its would be a lot of work. Premeux is the only company that I know of that makes them. They sure are nice in the rain and cold.

Thanks Ringadingh.

I went to the premeux web page after I got your PM to inquire about the fairing (upper and lower). I called the number listed and got no answer. The prices are not listed on the web.

I showed my wife a picture of your bike and she loved it. I am trying hard to get her interested in motorcycles.

Ive called the number a couple years ago and spoke to Serge, I think its his cell so give it a try again tomorrow. I think the lowers are around $700.00 but not positiveon that.

I have a premuex fairing and lower fairings. I remove the lower during the summer. They are very nice. I got mine used. A couple of the snaps on the leather box covers had come off, but are easily repaired.

Standard,

Do you removed your lowers in the summer because of the amount of heat they generate? Since I live in Louisiana, where it seems to be hot all the time, that would factor into my decision to purchase them.
