NCR Ride to the Rally in the Ozarks

Here is the definitive itinerary for the NCR ride to and from the Combined Rally; all are welcome to join us. Hope to see a bunch of NCR members in Hannibal!

June 21, 2014 : Depart for Hannibal, MO (Best Western on the River).

June 22, 2014 : Depart Hannibal, MO for Mountain View, AR.

June 23,24,25,26, 2014 : Ride the Ozarks.

June 27, 2014 : Depart Mountain View for Hannibal, MO (Best Western on the River).

June 28, 2014 : Depart Hannibal, MO for home.

I'm leaving for the same area tomorrow to go to another rally. I had to choose between the two.

What route were you and the rest coming from the north taking? BnG and I we were thinking about just going straight south, spending the night some place then head on down the next day to base camp.

I decided I am not welcome to ride with you Gibby, because of my garbage-bag rack-luggage.

I realize it looks like a bag-man type of luggage, but it is of the finest made, industrial plastic garbage-bag. In fact, it is the largest size I could find, since size does matter, so I have been told regarding so many different items. (i.e., engine, bike, seat, saddle-bags and trunk space, and on and on.)

So, being entirely embarrassed to death when you saw my luggage and endured your comments; I have decided to skip the schedule so as not to embarrass you on the ride.

Bought a rack-bag this week. It fits great on the bike; and has a rain-cover that matches. So..... no more garbage-bag rain-cover.

I ordered one Monday and got it today. Great service from Leatherup.com.

However, after your degrading comments and abuse... I just couldn't stand the punishment any longer.

PS: By the way, Ray said he only endured 10-minutes of rain on his way home. I was surprised, because I thought he was going to get hammered. Glad to hear he didn't. Had a great time riding with you guys this past weekend; despite the abuse I took.

Hey Amin, our tentative route is south on I-35 to Mason City. East on 18 to 218 south thru Cedar Rapids and Iowa City. If you and BNG want to hook up with us you could meet us in Iowa City and ride south with us.

I was on a Memorial ride last Saturday for one of our members son that was killed in a snowmobile accident as a young teen. Our kickoff point was at a local Victory dealer and while waiting I was browsing in the store and bought this back seat bag for our upcoming trip to the Ozarks. Mine is exactly the same bag but has a Victory logo on it. It is huge and will easily hold a weeks worth of clothing. Had it on my back seat all day Saturday riding in the rain almost all day and it was bone dry on the inside when I got home. It will also work real nice as a backrest on those long boring stretches of road on the way to AR.

P.S. Greg, it adds 18 gallons of storage to my current 41 gallons. It is truly a milk truck now.

BnG got his room reserved in Hannibal and I will be next. Talked to Spill tonight and him and his brother might join us there too.

I called the front desk and after asking me if I was there with a group like a church I told him a group of riders were meeting at his hotel for the night before we went on. Asked me to give him a name of one and gave him GIBBY and now I am set,got me a room. Otherwise it was looking like I would have had to stay in Quency,Il.

I always say "Gibby" when I have trouble booking a room. If they say "who?", I just ask, "Don't you know who Gibby is? My gosh, you have Gibby staying in your hotel that evening and you don't know who Gibby is?".

If they say "no", I tell them; "You have Mel Gibson staying at your hotel and I am part of his group. Certainly you are aware of this!".

I always get a room then...
