IACS/ ISC Removal- What do I lose?

Just curious.............when you disable this system when installing aftermarket intake like Chuckster's, what do you lose? I know IASC stands for Idle Air Control System, but apparently the idle is unaffected by the change. Is it just an emissions thing?

I found that after removing the IACS system that my bike is now much more cold blooded. I almost never had to use the "choke" knob before, and now it seems that if it's below 40 deg F or so, I have to pull the knob out to let it warm up for a few minutes before it's ready to go.

Haven't seen a difference related to removing those clickity-clackity things......other than the noticeable increase in power & response due to the open intake!

Agreed, you may need to bump up the throttle advance and if its really cold, choke it a little. Once you find the sweet spot you don't have to mess with it too much though.

It won't idle as well when first fired up, after a couple minutes it will idle as normal.

Thats the reason I decided to keep mine since I didnt want to wait for the bike to warm up.Living in the cold part of the country though it best to keep them
