I just can't get healthy

Been fighting these bulged disks in my lower back and neck for a couple of months. Got an injection in the neck the week before we went to the National Rally. Never really got much relief but we made the Rally and had a great time. Two weeks ago we had a storm go through and took a lot of shingles off of out small storage shed so I just stripped all the shingles off of it and installed new ones. While do the tear off in my klutz kind of way I ended up stepping on a nail. With my nerve problems in my feet I did not realize I had stepped on the nail and walked around on it for about an hour. Now after a tetanus shot and 4 days of keeping drawing save on the wound I still have a foot that is swelling. So yesterday I went to the doctor and he advised me to soak it in a warm Epsom salts bath twice a day for the next 4 day and stay off of it as much as possible.

It just seams that we can't get a break. Liz was just complaining that she had not ridden her bike since we got back from the rally and now I am going to be down for at least a week maybe two. I still have not got the antifreeze changed in her bike and she is ready for a new back tire. Plus I still have a large brush pile of tree limbs in the back yard to get burnt and a of course the grass doesn't care that I am down either. Liz says that what doesn't get done today will still be there tomorrow and I tell her plus a dozen other things. Oh well, thanks for listening, I am going to go soak my foot.

Jim

Know the feeling very well Jim. Here's to a speedy recovery.

Remember, there's always somebody that's in worse shape than you are.
(That's what my parents used to tell me... and it never helped.)

I just can't get healthy

When I went to my doctor yesterday he had this new little chart and after my exam he looked at the chart and said that based on my age, wieght, blood pressure and colestoral my 10 year life expectency looked very good. I told him, "That may be according to that chart but I would have to die to feel better"! I got some new pain medician.

It seems that for some of us the years of abuse are starting to take there toll. I think as we get older its harder to avoid the signals our body gives us. Hope you get better soon.

Doing some better. Back and Neck is not as sore and swelling in foot is going down. Trying to stay off of it as much as possible and still get things done. Soaking foot twice a day per doctor's instructions. Managed to take a little ride last night for dinner. Only about 80 miles but any ride is better than no ride.
