Cold Weather Gloves

Does anyone have any advice (boy that's loaded) on gloves to wear when the temp. gets below shirt sleeve weather? Preferably gauntlet style without a lot of bulk.

Cold Weather Gloves

I've been lead to this site by folks her on this forum... http://www.gerbing.com/heat/glovesprod.html

I'm sure it's one of many, but it's a place to start!

Good luck,
Daryl

Cold Weather Gloves

I use Tour Master Winter Elite gloves. I ride down to around 30 degrees in them and have found them to be excellent. They are too warm if it is above 50. Perfect from high 30's to high 40's. Cold starts coming through in the lower 30's.

Cold Weather Gloves

I wear heavy thinsulate gauntlet gloves. They are so old and used that I can't tell or remember the name. When temp drops below mid 30's and I have a long way to go I also wear a light pair of cotton gloves with a hand warmer in between the cotton glove and the leather gauntlet. Was able to make a 150 mile trip at 24 degrees and 75 mph with no problem.

Cold Weather Gloves

I wear the gauntlet gloves that are insulated. Got mine for a local biker clothing store. If extra is needed I add a thin pair of liners. Works great at the 30 degree mark.

Under 40 degrees, this is what I wear at work. If it really gets cold, I also use liners with the pocket for the hot hands packs.

I've also used an UnderArmour type of underclothing that works well. I got it from the Jockey outlet store. Same as UnderArmour, only less expensive. I was surprised how well they insulate and block wind.

My $.02,
Daryl

First Gear - Dakota's wear them to -10 Celcius. They feel & fit like a summer glove but have the most Thinsulate available.

I have some deerskin gauntlet gloves I bought locally from Joeta's Leather http://www.joetasleather.com. They aren't brand-name, but they are warm. Admittedly, it doesn't get too cold where I'm at, but for riding in the mountains I picked up a really nice pair of Head ski gloves at Costco for like $15. They are waterproof and windproof and have a gauntlet-like opening with a drawstring that I can seal around the cuffs of my leather jacket.

Cold Weather Gloves

I have these for 30 to 50 degrees:
http://www.chilhowee.net/motorcycle-.../GL-DM004.html
and these for below 30 degrees"
http://www.olympiagloves.com/viewgloves.html except mine are 7 years old and only Weather Kings. I prefer the Chilhowees but I just got them this week and have only ridden in temps down to 29 with them so I can't say they'll work for anything lower. The Olympia's, I've use in temps down to 6 degrees. Keep in mind, my commute is only about 30 minutes and I have warm hands to begin with. Anything above 50 and I wear unlined naked leather and feel fine. The Chilhowees aren't bulky and are made of deerskin that really feels good. My naked unlined gloves are a pair of Chilhowee guantlets and short summer gloves. I like Chilhowee products.
Ride safe.
Dano
