This was the first news story I saw today. What a great way to start the day. Finally a Public official asks THAT question. All other Public officials should take note and do likewise.
You think after 23 years he would have taken the time to become fluent in the language of the Country he lives in.

My wife is German. Befor she was granted a Visa to come to the US in 1978, we went to the American Consulate office in Frankfurt, W.Germany. Our government officials made me wait in the lobby while she was taken into an office, and checked to make sure she could not only speak, but read and write English BEFORE a VISA was granted. At the time we had been married over 2 years and had an 8 month old son. Not so these days, at least not with the Hispanics. Go figure. I take immigration issues kinka personal.

Just had a story down here on the news last night about some illegal that is subject to deportation after having lived here since he was 15, he is now in his 40s. He takes care of his mother who is an illegal in poor health, (so guess who is really footing the bill).
He was complaining its not fair if they deport him as he has been in this country so many years and knows nothing about Mexico. He says he has earned the right to stay here. He did not have a reply when some one asked him why he never made any effort to become legal over all the years he has been here. |
