BIG Thank you to Wayne

I want to give a big thank you to WayneE. When Joe was thanking people he mentioned that Wayne rode all the way home to make sure he got there. I just wanted to say, that was not just a small thing Wayne did.

This past weekend Natalie and I had to go to Ft. Lauderdale for something. The route we took would have been the same one Wayne would have taken to get home. When we arrived in Naples, I-75 across the state was closed due to fires. It was closed the weekend Wayne rode home also. So he had to take US41 to get over there.

For those of you who don’t know that stretch of road let me explain. It’s one lane in both directions, speed limit is 60MPH and everyone thinks the need to go 80. The pavement is not that smooth and can be very bumpy in spots, cars are passing you and darting in to avoid oncoming traffic, since I-75 was closed the traffic has doubled. It’s not a very safe rode for motorcycles.
Wayne and Joe stayed in Ocala the night before and decided to finish the trip the next day. Wayne could have easily took the turnpike and I-95 and been home in a few hours without having to deal with US 41. Instead he chose not only to take the longer route but knew ahead of time he would have to take US41.
Keep in mind this is now the fifth day for him and Joe. Wayne was tired, wanted to get home to see his little boy but, chose to help a fellow rider get home safe.

WayneE deserves a big cudo’s from all of us for his kind and selfless act.

BIG Thank you to Wayne

Thanks Mike for posting this. Wayne was my guardian angel and made sure I got home safely. Not only was I riding with a broken thumb, but I had no left mirror. So Wayne followed me and when I had to move from the right to left lane, Wayne, behind me, moved over first and then I proceeded.

As I mentioned several times, its the good people that make this forum, and I'm glad Mike recognized Wayne for the help he gave me...

Thanks for the post Mike. So much for keeping a low profile and flying below the radar. Anyone in this riding group would have done the same thing. This is something you just do.

One thing that Mike didn't mention about our return home from Helen. When Mike and Jim got separated from the group, even with all the turmoil he was dealing with, Joe's focus was on them.

No one could ask for a better group of people to be associated with.

You are right Jim, until I get that stereo mounted I may be impossible to ride with.
