rear fender info
I contacted PH customs about a rear fender bib and they told me that they developed one for the 1500 nomad but never advertised it as they didn't think there was any interest. They said they do not have one for the 1600 and asked if I would be interested in helping them develop one.
Is there really much difference between the 1500 and the 1600 as far as how the fender is shaped or how the bib would attach? I imagine it would attach to the rear seat bolts right? Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I have a 1500 Nomad. From what I've seen, the rear fender on the 1600s look a lot different than mine. The 1600 seems to taper in on the sides toward the rear more so than the 1500s do. Not sure if the same bib would fit both style rear fenders. I know this is not much help, but that's all I've got on the subject :-/.

The 1600 rear fender is quite a bit different than the 1500; look at my sig pic. Once it warms up a bit, I am going to rework my 1500 pattern to fit on the 1600 but at this point I think the 1600 mud flap will need to be attached with bolts. But you never know, I might be able to attach it on the 1600 with Velcro like the 1500 is attached????

I am looking at something to cover the fender after the rear seat is removed. I have considered a rear solo rack like some have but I am considering all options to protect the fender when I strap a bag on.

My apologys if your insulted but if you want a particular item for your "personal" bike then I feel the item should be considered first then the price. If the price is too high then don't consider the item. 80 bucks for a solo rack is still a steal of a deal. I've seen guys pay as much as 1000 bucks for a rack...Bdog

speaking of solo racks..... how about a better pic of the one you have there. From what I can see that is a very unique mounting system
And I was not offended just making a statement. I am a cheap ass. I am just debating on a leather pad to cover the fender or an actual rack |

You betcha..just to give you an idea of costs..material was about 40 bucks but design time (2hrs),machining ( no welding, all machined fitted) (10 hrs) sanding and polishing (3hrs). Labour @ 25hr x 15hrs= 375 +material 40= 415 bucks and thats on the low end...but I get a one-off, unique, functional rack that protects the fender and lots of pride to boot...Bdog
