May 2011 Ride
I went on a solo trip to visit friends from May 2nd to May 7th. My Nomad carried me 1902 miles from Gowrie, IA to Columbus, IN to Dry Ridge, KY to Rockford, MI to Chicago, IL and back to Iowa. Although the rivers were usually high, I never got rained on!
I was treated with a tenderloin lunch by 1600BlueKaw in Columbus, IN, stayed a couple nights with an old AF buddy in Dry Ridge, KY, had breakfast at Rosie's Diner, Rockford, MI, and toured downtown Chicago, IL as a guest of Rayski271. On the last day, Rayski traveled west with me for a couple hours and we had breakfast before he had to turn around and go back to the Chicago area. I was blessed the whole trip and I want to thank these good friends for their genuine hospitality. In 1902 miles, my Nomad averaged 38.5 mpg. Total fuel cost was $204.95. The bike never missed a beat and pulled strong the entire trip. I just laid back and enjoyed the sights! Now, I'm looking forward to the National Rally in Maggie Valley, NC. See you there!

Sounds like you had a great trip Dave. It was nice of Ray and Don to meet up with you along the way.
I can't wait until next month. By the way John Gerber will not be coming with me, a group I ride with is planning a trip to Sturgis this year and I think he considering going on that. See ya there, Tim

BNG, I wonder how much further you could have ridden, if you had let Macmac operate on you?
We missed out on a great party at your expense! :)

Stretch - tell John he's gonna really miss a much better ride! See you in Normal, IL, we'll be looking for you.
Gene - yes, friends make it all worthwhile. Loafer - I almost forgot about that! Now I'll have recurring nightmares..... again.
