Thumbs Up Willville bike camp

Me and the madam are heading up to Willville Bike Camp next week. If anyone's going to be in the area, let's meet up for lunch and some riding. Willville is located just off the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan, Va.
Will be there the week of 9/16-9/21.

The blue ridge parkway, what a great ride that is. It takes me a couple of days to get their but is still one of my favorite places to see. I've been down their 3 times and would like to go again. Just have to keep hinting to the wife for a while.

Hey Bobby. If you're in the area around mile post 179 on the parkway, that's where the bike camp is located. I'll be there from Tuesday thru Saturday of next week. Maybe we'll bump into each other.

That's on my list also. The blue ridge pkwy all the way down to NC and ride the dragon. Maybe next year Mike. I figure what 6 days or so.

I'm also going to plan a Adirondack ride next year 1-2 nights

6 days won't do it' 2 days to get their and 3 days on the parkway. The parkway really shouldn't be rushed it's beautiful and i think the speed limit is 30-35 or so and lots of stops along the way to take it all in.

We started out at Cherokee this morning and got at the first overlook at 6000' and I almost couldn't find the motorcycle in the parking lot because it was so foggy then it rained pretty hard so we came down the mountain and got a room at Gatlinburg. Going to ride the interstate to Ashville and try it again tomorrow. I sure hate that slow speed!

Glad that you made it out of the fog. The area around Asheville and Boone area does have a tendency to get foggy. On the bright side, It's suppose to be pretty Mon, Tues with chances of rain Wed and Thurs. Then clear Fri, Sat and Sun. Ride safe and enjoy the rest of you're trip. BTW, are you camping, motels, or both.

Motels. Today we got on BRP again and made it to Little Switzerland. The rain and fog came again so we got off the parkway and rode some real twisty road to Marion. My rear brake must have gotten hot and all of a sudden quit working (bad feeling) coming down the mountain. I give up on the BRP its too dangerous with the fog. We rode back to pigeon forge for tonight and will find some sunshine somewhere for tomorrow, maybe Nashville.

Sorry to hear about the weather, but that is the nature of the area. Hope the rear brake turns out to be nothing. I'm pulling out this morning around 8AM. I should be in Va around noonish. Ride safe and be careful.
