I'm putting on v & H pipes on the 08. Do most of you use standard kaw crush gaskets? I know for the vulcan 750 most actually recommend a HD gasket. thanks

I use the Harley gasket (part # 17048-98) simply because they are always in stock and do not have to ordered by my local Kawi dealer. The Harley ones are also cheaper by about $4.

My pipes came with a new set of gaskets and I had already purchased MaKaw's gaskets. When I compared the gaskets, MaKaw's were thicker so I used those. Personally, I'd use stock, but I do know of a lot of people who have used HD gaskets with great success. It's what ever would be easier to get.

Ive used both with equal success, Its just that I can get the HD ones easier here.

Road House pipes no longer come with gaskets! I just got a set in and the parts list was wrong on 2 nuts and bolts, but I sent off that info and expect the part list to be changed and the nut and bolts added.

No gaskets though....

I also use these HD gaskets, and around here, you get 2 HD gaskets for the price of 1 Kawi gasket. The HD gaskets are more "substantial" than the Kawi ones (look like braided metal, instead of a slightly puffed up donut), and they are always in stock at the HD parts dept.
