Rubber Pointy Things

Anybody happen to know the oem # for the 2 left side cover things. You slide the cover over them and they rest inside a circle rubber grommer(dampener). I need the conical pointy things NOT the rubber grommets. I cannot even find a pic on bike bandit.com for them, surely they can be bought. Somebody on here was looking for the rubber dampeners but these are what go through the dampeners. Thx in advance!!

Doc

Aren't the pointy things molded in so they are part of the cover? Or is that some other pointy things I am thinking of?
And never mind the Madonna jokes you clowns

I believe the pointy things are part of the base(metal) attached to the bike then the cover slides over the two pointy things and locks down with key. Any help guys?

I'm pretty sure they are molded into the LH side cover. You're referring to the two pointy things that slide through the rubber grommets to secure the front of the side cover in place? The rear of the side cover is secured with the key lock. Are we talking about the same thing?

DOC, not sure what year yours is but I just went out and looked at mine (fire drill at work). On my 06 the pointy things are molded into the backing plate behind where the california can and tool pouch go. The manual calls it the "Tool Box" but gives no part number.

If you still have the broken peice, see if JB Weld will fix it. That stuff is amazing on a lot of different materials.

Doc, I was mistaken. You are right, the pointy things are not part of the cover as I thought. They are part of the thing behind the cover.
I have an idea thought. I'm into archery a little and I have some practice points that thread into the end of the arrow, I think you can make them work. I just brought my side cover in and tried them. They fit the hole in the rubber things perfect and they are pointed but not sharp. They are also stainless steel. They have threads on the back side so you could drill a hole where the pointy things go and screw a nut on the back. I think it will work.
If you want you can PM me and I will give you my phone # or you can give me yours. You may not know what I mean here.

TC...you're right, that will probably work.
One of mine broke off, did a little Dremel work to flaten out surfaces, and installed bolt with nuts on both sides. Works fine

No, it sounds like we're talking about 2 different things. 1600s must be different.

I've used JB weld in the past to save an engine teardown(1974 cb 750 Honda where jug meets crankcase), but the newer formula just don't seem to have the strength that it used to have. I'd love to get my hands on some of that old formula stuff. As for thais repair, I'd say unless you find a wrecked bike or something like that, you will probly have to buy the WHOLE DAM PART. ??? I Like the archery point idea too. Might try that.
