Son's First Ride

Took my 8 year old son for his first ride on the Nomad yesterday. He loved it. We went around the golf course, about 3 miles.

His feet are on the floor boards, he definitely was sitting down, lol. He was squeezing me pretty hard at the start but by the end he was ok.

Well, since he won't be 16 till 2016...I'll have to do some calculations with Trip's help. I'll have to find out what our rate of growth here is and then project it forward 8 years.

He really liked it. I told him if he rides his regular bike and gets good at that, we may look at a dirt bike down the road. My 15 and 17 are too darned big for me to give them a ride. The 15 is 6' 4" and the 17 is 6' 2". My 21 wants a bike and I think he will get something like a Nomad when he gets a job after graduation.

Thats a great pic, Ive been taking my son for about 5 years now, he's 13 and loves going on the bike. But he's already made a couple of comments about wanting his own bike.

They don't eat as much at 8 as they do at 15, 17 and 21, that's for sure!

Tell me about it! The only one I'm bigger than is the 8 year old but he will be catching me soon enough. I told the old ones "you may be bigger than me but us old guys fight dirty" ;)

No doubt. My complete retirement plan went for groceries!
Although my middle son (23 yrs old, 6'4", 225 lbs) was always my power eater. He grew up a head taller than all his classmates and I don't think we ever did fill that boy up!
Even my 16 yr old is bigger than me now. But like you Coacha, I've always ingrained in them that I may be 80 yrs old but I'll still be able to whup their a**. My wife says I'm just trying to brainwash them but hey, whatever works!

Coacha, thanks for sharing the great pic. I can still remember the first time my dad gave me a ride on his bike. I was hooked from that moment on. Probably wouldn't be interested in bikes if it wouldn't have been for him.
