We Need Someone To Check The Facts At The W.H.

I found this to be humorous, not political.

Gotta love the First Lady

Michelle Obama reminded attendees of a Naturalization Ceremony
Wednesday that the Founding Fathers weren't born in America. The
ceremony for 50 new U.S. citizens was held at the National Archives in
Washington , D.C.

She said during her speech, referring to the Declaration of
Independence, "It's amazing that just a few feet from here where I'm
standing are the signatures of the 56 Founders who put their names on a Declaration that changed the course of history, and like the 50 of you, none of them were born American - they became American."

Excuse me? Did she actually mean that those who signed the
Declaration of Independence and participated in the drafting of the
Constitution were not born in America?

Benjamin Franklin was born in Pennsylvania.
Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, and James Madison were born in Virginia.
John Adams was born in Massachusetts.
Only eight of the 56 were not born in America. Surely she knew this.

But, then again, maybe not. After all, she is a Harvard graduate. Isn't she?

As John Wayne said .... "Life's tough. It's tougher when you're stupid."

And by the way, THE CONSTITUTION WAS NOT SIGNED IN WASHINGTON D.C.!
It was signed in Philadelphia!

I guess it's true, you just can't fix stupid.......

Maybe she meant after the declaration was signed they became Independently American. I don't think she means they were not born in America ?

Actually she says they weren't born here like the immigrants.

"She said during her speech, referring to the Declaration of
Independence, "It's amazing that just a few feet from here where I'm
standing are the signatures of the 56 Founders who put their names on a Declaration that changed the course of history, and like the 50 of you, none of them were born American - they became American." "

To me, that sounds like none of them were born here, they were born some place else. It's just words that can be interpreted how ever you think.
I thought it was funny. just saying

Well I think that technically they were born British citizens as the 13 original states were British colonies until 1776. Right? Then they became American citizens by choice when the USA became independent.

Everyone in North America is an immigrant or a descendant of an immigrant unless they are of native descent.

The Irish also need to settle up some land claims.

A foolish attempt at humor. In the text she is quoted as saying "none of them were born American" not that they were not born on this continent. Since the USA didn't exist when they were born, that is a true statement. Furthermore, she didn't say it was signed in Washington D.C. She said that is where the signatures are located today. Again, a true statement.

You would think that one planning to close with "I guess it's true, you just can't fix stupid" would be more careful with the facts. (There were 56 delegates who signed it.)

We don't all interpret every thing we read the same way.
I'll have to back track my mail and try to find the creator of this attempt of humor.
Then I will severely admonish him! Will that make you feel better?
