What I love is they video it and put it out on the web so all can see how stupid they are. Parents must be so proud.

Must have been fixated on the truck, the bike follows the eyes. I can't figure any other reason the merge lane continued on for quite a while.

He looked like he may have "zoned out" while going down that on-ramp. He looked like he started drifting in the lane; he never turned his head to look at approaching traffic and just floated right into the side of the truck. He is very lucky indeed at the outcome. I saw a woman "zone out " on the highway one day in the opposite lanes. She was holding the steering wheel looking straight ahead, but she was like out of it. Her car drifted off the road ran up an incline and crashed full on into a bridge abutment. I could see her eyes wide open when she did it. Makes you wonder.

Looks like he was locked on to the truck for a minute and then couldn't pull out of it.

What an idiot. No protective gear, and driving without using his brain! He never even bothered to look in any direction! Wonder he wasn't killed.....

Would have made a better video if he would have jumped into the bed of the truck and then stood up waving his arms in a triumphant HOORAH!!!
Otherwise he is just a lucky idiot.

The video should be used in training of how not to position your body and head when making a turn...

Clearly this guy has never had any training, or learned much about riding positioning.

Despite his speed being high for the situation, it wasn't the cause of his wreck.

His lack of proper body positioning is what caused him to drift to the outside of his turn and hit the truck. I see similar drifting by riders all the time... sadly.

He maintains the same lean all the way thru the curve until he hit the truck, he just starts going straight just before he crosses the white lines. It may be that at some point he panicked and just started pressing down on the bars without actually counter steering.
