Top collectible motorcycle sale prices paid...

This link is to a site I visit once in a while to look at vintage motorcycles and the sales of such.

I think it is interesting to look at the bikes, and I still discover bikes I had no idea existed.

It seems in the U.S., you mostly hear about individuals collecting HD's or Indians the most. However, from a broader, global perspective, you see many other motorcycles in the lists of top-collectibles.

Take a look at this link to see a list of the highest prices paid for vintage motorcycles. Get your checkbooks out!

From Wikipedia:

Crockers were not mass produced, and estimates of how many were made range from 61 to 104 road machines, with many experts agreeing on 75 complete motorcycles manufactured.

There was a guy who was manufacturing replicas with modern technology and materials. At $53,000 each I am not sure he sold too many of them. http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/cl...e-company.aspx

The article info, it was stated someone had tried to revive Excelsior-Henderson. Obviously failed they failed. It takes deep pockets to revive a brand.

I think it costs money to mass produce any bike. Motus seems to be picking up speed. I know of someone that is buying one. He went to a demo event and says they are awesome.

As far as EH goes, there was a lot of jackassery there. From what I have seen, it seems that the #1 cause of the failure of startups is not funding it properly to get over the hump, meaning until being profitable. I see it with restaurants all the time, but manufacturers have the same problem. Forecasting is important.
