Radio noise when the fans turn on...
Hey guys I got stuck in road construction yesterday and it was a long hot roll 20 feet at a time for almost 3 miles . Needless to say my fans came on and off a few times. Every time they did my radio got alot of static in it and as soon as the fans cut off it cleared up. I have the radio main power wired to a 30 amp relay fused with my running lights ( light bar ). Think its a voltage drop issue or noise in the line? I am going riding today and ill try the usb input when the fan is on to see if it makes a difference. Any input is welcome.

Sounds like it might be ground looping between the fan and radio..try moving the ground wire from the radio to another place....

Or it could be the brushes in the fan motor are not set well and arcing. A capacitor across the brushes could be the solution.
