Problem after tire install

Took my Nomad to a after market shop this past Friday to buy a new front tire. I bought a Kenda Kruz673 150/80/16 . Things seemed fine until I went for a ride today on the Interstate. All is well up to 60 mph, then, I start to feel a distinct vibration. Not a shaking like the tire is out of balance, but a vibration. I can feel it in my feet, legs, arms, and head. My wife says she doesn't feel it, as we were riding two up. I do. Maybe it is just the Kenda is a harder tire, and I am feeling every little bum in he road ? I don't know. What say you guys ?

Problem after tire install

I remember when I had the stock Bridgestones on the bike. It was like riding a bike with non pneumatic tires, ie solid rubber. After changing to Avon cobras it was much better. Maybe the Kendas are like the Bridgestones, the compound is as hard as a rock ?

Something is wrong, it shouldn't do that. Take it back and tell them, it may need to be balanced (perhaps a weight fell off) Or the tire may not be seated correctly on the rim or the wheel is not installed properly. It could also be a defective tire as well. Either way a new tire should feel a lot better than the old one.

I personally would give it a couple hundred miles. I may be something minor like the the new tire nubs that haven't warn off yet.

After a few rides, if it hasn't gone away, than I would start looking more into it.

Make sure your tread is going the correct direction.

At first, I thought that the problem could be the Kendas are harder tires, and that still may be the case, but I am going to take it back to the shop, and have it checked out. It reminds me of how my previous bike rode with the Dunlops on it. Now, the front tire is Kenda and the rear is Bridgestone that has been on for a year with no problems.

I was thinking the same thing, Jared. This tire almost looked hairy it had so many nuns. I may wait and see . Thanks.

Frank If it were me I would at least take it back to the shop and see what they say then if you want to you could try it for a little while but I would let them know that something is wrong.

I'd look to see if the tire had weights to indicate balancing was done. It shouldn't vibrate, something is not correct.

Can I ask if you checked the tire pressure? Some shops to get the tire seated put a higher pressure in the tire. Maybe they didn't check and it's running a lot more pressure then it should be??

I am not saying it is, but didn't see where you checked that and or anyone else suggested to check it?
Front and back tires. A vibration through the handlebars you would feel but not your wife.

Hope it is something simple like that......good luck let us know what you find out.

There are weights on the rim. It is not a violent shaking, but like a back messager.

Scott, I checked the pressure yesterday morning. It only had 25 lbs. I pumped it up to 40. Seemed better, but still there.

Watch the air pressure. If it seems to have a slow leak I would suspect that the bead is not fully seated. I've never been on a tire with an unseated bead, but it bears a close inspection to the sidewall to see if it appears fully seated on both sides and then monitor the air pressure.
