Ebay has some covers available as well, I havn't look in a while but they used to cost about $25.00. I bought one very similar to them at a bike shop here and paid about $65.00.
Princess Auto also has them on sale from time to time as well.
They are just a nylon cover probably more for dust protection than actual water protection.

the cheaper nylon are like what Steve said dust covers. If you can't get it in the house I'd rent a storage bay just for the winter

I want a heavy duty one, locking would be a bonus.
I still don't know what size, I don't want it baggy like a sail, but it should touch the ground.

I have a Nelson Rigg. It is 10 years old. I use it 7 months of the year, as I do not have a garage. The rest of the year the bike is in a shed. The cover is the outside heavy weather one. Limited life time warranty. Totally awesome.

A garage is the best cover for a bike. I have a Dowco Guardian that I only use when touring to keep eyes off the bike at night.

I have one that I purchased on Ebay for about $60. I only use it at night at motels. It is supposed to be water resistant but the bike has some condensation on it when I remove the cover early in the morning.

That's because it IS water resistant and doesn't breathe.

I'm with Fish on this one;
If I couldn't get it in the house I'd rent a storage bay just for the winter.
Then next year think about a little 10' x 12' shed. My shed only cast about $1200. Worth every cent.
Something else no one mentioned is you may want to take the battery out and bring it inside.
Now next year when you buy that shed I was talking about you can have electricity run to it so you can use a battery tender and not have to go through the hassel of removing it from the bike.

Another option is;

I bought one through my dealer and it cost around $50. Covers can be a hassle to get on and off. I'm with Fish and TC about getting a shed. That would be your best option.

Bring it down here and put it in my garage.

I'll even keep it running for you. That way when you come get it in the spring all is well.

;)

I just bought one from there not long ago. Way more than a dust cover Steve. It's a fairly heavy canvas with part of it plastic covered on the bottom half.

Walmart here in Montreal Had 2 types of covers, some cheap ones and some decent ones as well. I bought one of the decent ones a couple of years back and it is water proof, has soft flannel in the wind shield area, vents and some supposedly heat proof material in the muffler area. Extra large fits the Nomad well. If you are forced to store outside, parking the bike on plywood with a sheet of plastic underneath will prevent a lot of dampness from coming up out of the ground and getting trapped under the cover.

Really?? I wouldn't even have thought to do that. I would just cry if I had to leave "nan" outside. I have my garage heater on right now so when they bring the bike home from the shop, it's already nice and warm for her. I can't wait to have her home. Even if all I get to do is run a cloth over her to keep any dust off.
