What tire pressures are you guys running in them?

When I first got my new set of Cobras, I spoke to a Avon rep, and he told me that those tires aren't listed for a Nomad, and that due to the size and weight of a Nomad (about the same as a Triumph Rocket III Tourer), he suggested 36~38 psi for the front, and 44 psi for the rear. The rear has long since been worn out and replaced with a CT, but the front is still going strong.

I followed the Avon reps advise and ran 50# in the rear tire for the Custer trip pulling the trailer while riding 2 up. The center of the tire was worn thin after 6,000 miles. I then replaced it with a CT. The front tire is holding up well with a constant 42 psi. Nearly 9,000 miles showing very little wear.

I feel those pressures are too high as shown by center tread wear prematurely. I reg air mine up to about 32-34 front and about 36-38 rear depending on luggage , weight, passenger, etc. You go to those factory rep settings and the bike rides like a rock. No more soft rides, but you do at my settings. had these since the tires were new and now got about 5,000 miles and still near all the meat.

When I had Cobras I ran 40 ront and 40 rear.
Front cupped at around 7000 miles but I ran it an additional 7000.
Rear went smooth in center around 11000 miles. I now have Dunlop E-3's front and rear and run 40/40.
I will not ever go to a car tire. but that's just me.

I have Cobras and run 40 front and back. 18,000 kms on the front and 15,000 kms on the back. They are about half worn out.

I sent an e-mail to Avon and told them I ride a Nomad and weigh 300 lbs.

Avon Customer Service suggested 38-40 front and 42-44 rear.

I run 42F-44R. With a little over 6,000 miles they are both in good shape.

Just had a set installed last week and have 800 miles on them after our weekend trip. An independent shop mounted and he put 40 Rear and 36 front. Judging from how the bike rode with these settings, that may be where they stay. These tires are fantastic.

41 front and 43 rear..you don't want to run these tires to soft because they feel loose if you do..Bdog
