This is nothing new. Harley-Davidson has had airbags on their motorcycles for many years. I run into them all the time.

I don't like it. I would feel safer without a bag in front of me wondering when it is going off accidentally.

On another note, watch this video of the guy passing the slow van at deal's gap and driving off the ledge into nowhere (happens at 32 seconds):
