AVON TIRES

I had a fairly long talk with the Avon rep at the Motorcycle show here in Phoenix. I am leaning toward the Avon Cobra after comparing the various brands. Probably sometime in mid January.

A few of us have Avon Cobras on our bikes. I haven't heard any complaints yet

I have Avon Cobras, they are great tires and get rid of a lot of the traits of the stock Bridgestones. I have not tried Metzelers or Dunlops on my Nomad.

Mine aren't due yet but my mind is made up on the Avon Cobras.

I can't give any comment on the Venoms, but as compared to the stock stones, and the Metzeler 880s, The Avon Cobras are in a league of their own. I haven't had them on long enough to tell how long they'll last (about 1000 miles), but I can sure tell you you can't beat the ride or handling with what I've tried.

I have Venom's - so far so good. 25,000 km on rear and not worn out yet. I will be changing it out over winter as in the spring I go on a long ride thru the mountains and prefer a good set of tires for that! Front - doesn't look like any wear?

I've used Avon Venom on my Harley and Nomad. I really like them. I know have a Dunlop Elite III on the rear and its just as great in all areas.

I thought someone on here said the Avon's were a softer compound? so might wear faster?? What's the difference between venoms and cobras(tread pattern)??

One of the Avon reviews mentioned filling his tires with Nitrogen. Why would you do that?

the nitrogen causes the bike to be a few pounds lighter, therefore less friction on the tires which translates into GOT YOU! :-)
