Garmin Etrex GPS handle bar mount question

I will be getting a new to me Nomad next weekend. I would like to mount my Garmin legend GPS using the garmin mount 010-10267-00 to mount between the handlebar mounts. My question is: What is the distance between the handlebar mounts and will there be adequate room for the gps without interference during turning? Thanks!

Garmin Etrex GPS handle bar mount question

Welcome to the Nomad Nation from the Grand Canyon State!

The handlebar mounts, or risers, have about a 2" space between them. They are kind of diamond-shaped, and I measured at the narrowest point. That's the stock Kawasaki risers, if aftermarket risers have been installed on your Nomad, it may be different.

Garmin Etrex GPS handle bar mount question

You might be disappointed with the Garmin mounts, they usually do not do very well on vibrating motorcycles. If you have any problems, look for a matching "RAM", they are fully adjustable and about the toughest you can get for the application on hand.

I agree with moenko, look at "ram mounts" for your gps unit.
