How many taxes are there?

Probably been around but just got this one on Taxes:

Tax his land,
Tax his bed,
Tax the table
At which he's fed.

Tax his work,
Tax his pay,
He works for peanuts
Anyway!

Tax his cow,
Tax his goat,
Tax his pants,
Tax his coat.

Tax his tobacco,
Tax his drink,
Tax him if he
Tries to think.

Tax his car,
Tax his gas,
Find other ways
To tax his ass.

Tax all he has
Then let him know
That you won't be done
Till he has no dough.

When he screams and hollers;
Then tax him some more,
Tax him till
He's good and sore.

Then tax his coffin,
Tax his grave,
Tax the sod in
Which he's laid.

When he's gone,
Do not relax,
It's time to apply
The inheritance tax.

Accounts Receivable Tax
Airline surcharge tax
Airline Fuel Tax
Airport Maintenance Tax
Building Permit Tax
Cigarette Tax
Corporate Income Tax
Death Tax
Dog License Tax

Not one of these taxes existed 60 years ago, & our nation was one of the most prosperous in the world. We had absolutely no national debt, had a large middle class, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.

What happened? Can you spell 'politicians?'

I hope this goes around AMERICA at least 100 times.
YOU can help it get there.
GO AHEAD - - - be an AMERICAN

How many taxes are there?

As others have noted here before, the term "tax and spend" is not correct. It is more correctly stated as "Spend and tax". Politico's rejoice in writing checks against society and then later politicos get to figure out how to cover those checks. They always come to the only source of revenue that they have outside of a printing press.

Right now many state legislatures are in session and they are all trying to figure out how to balance checkbooks. They never have the stones to cancel the checks. Too many hogs at the trough scream foul and the politicos run for cover and look for new ways to secretly tax the working class.

Our liberties and our fortunes are only secure when these bozos are not in session.

I'm sick and tired of it.

How many taxes are there?

The interesting thing is how we've become accustomed to taxes. Our country was founded on a tax revolt and the rates weren't what we pay today. We've become accustomed to it as we really don't have to pay all those taxes as a separate item. I have read that a company wanted to pay it's employees in full, but require the employees to pay the taxes in the line next to check line so they would see the money that was coming out of their asses. The company was Coors. Look for Coors: http://www.nytimes.com/books/first/s/shlaes-greedy.html

Amity Shlaes wrote a great book called The Forgotten Man. I suggest reading it.

And I want to add, what the hell happened to the Tea Party revolt? Boehner has worked with the dems to create a budget. WTF? I don't think we had enough change this past november and Boehner is a mistake as House Speaker. My vote would have been with Ron Paul or Steve King.

How many taxes are there?

Yep, seems like they are stuck chasing the symptom not the cause.
Of course whats going on in Wisconsin and other "Blue" states sort of shows how trying to address the root of the problem wil go.
Then again, Christie seems to have the right idea and balls enough to do what he has to do address it.

We have a leader who is going to address the budget.... right after this last concert at the white house, right after a free healthcare for everyone, right after that mercedes would really look good in my driveway.... and every other wish list item they put on the credit card since taking office.

I dont think we can get there with this guy at the helm protecting his and the lefts pet spedning projects, the stuff that they crammed into our budget just in the last 2 years let alone over decades.... which they keep showing, are untouchable with the stroke of a veto.

So we are still playing lets make a deal and it may not be possible to fix it... Yet.
