Exclamation Mark Rear bag rubbing on fender

Hey guys I tried to search and I do remember reading about this issues the left bag on my bike is rubbing on the fender. Both the bag and the fender have paint damage. I bought the bike about two months ago and didn't notice the area. I gave the bike a really good cleaning and wax and noticed it then. Kawasaki is denying the warranty claim. Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Have you taken the bag off ? Easy to do, 3 bolts inside bag. Pull it and see what's causing the rub.

this is a known problem and Kawasaki does have a bulletin out explaning how the dealer
should fix the issue during the initial bike dealer prep.in my case I had the dealer fix mine today.kawi agreed to pay for the color rite paint and the dealer picked up the labor
cost.there are no parts envolved except for a small piece of 5/8 " heater hose.the kawi
bulletin is titled vaquero saddle bag adjustment.

Well just a quick update. After a bit of back and forth with Kawi. They are sending a complete new bag and a lower fender. Factory painted all at no charge. Once again just makes me feel good about supporting Kawi for all these years. The dealer also noticed a bit of pitting on both mufflers and those are also being replaced under warranty.

Logansrunner, Are you replacing the mufflers? If so, would you like to part with the old ones. I'd be interested in purchasing. I'm thinking of replacing my V&H mufflers to quieten mine down.

If the dealer doesn't have to return them to the factory I will see if I can get my fingers on them. If I can you are welcome to them.

Just out of curiosity, I had a look at the 2013 on the floor at the local Kawi dealership and, lo and behold... the brand new bike also had the problem. Just on the left side. The right side was good. A very odd engineering defect perhaps? I showed this to the owner of the store and he actually shrugged and said there was nothing he could do about it. What dealership are you dealing with? I guess it's up to the dealer. I'm wondering if Kawi would actually step in announce a recall to fix it? Anyway, it's not a huge problem but I know it's there and that's all it takes for me.

BUD2RAT - If he can't get you those mufflers, I have a set of stock mufflers from my '11 Voyager. Would be happy to sell - will they fit your 1500?
