Now that sounds like a lot of riding to me. You starting from Athens? Wish I could make it sounds like some good riding.

Just did the Lawrenceville - Jasper - Eljay - Blue Ridge - Eljay - Dawsonville - Gainsville - Lawrenceville. Around 225 miles and some nice roads up through that region. Had a great time.
Hope you enjoy you ride and I bet it verges on 300 + miles.

Hank

Yes, two of us started in Athens and met the other two riders out of SC in Lavonia, GA. It was a beautiful ride. We had to dodge a lot of bicyclists in the mountains. Saw a group of about 10 Victorys cruise by us while stopped at an overlook on the Richard B. Russell Scenic Parkway.

Glad you guys had a good ride. Don't you just hate those bicyclists? Man they sure can get in the way. A very dangerous sport in my opinion. I enjoy riding bicycles or at least used to. But it is very dangerous to be on highways.

Glad you had a great ride, I know the weather was almost perfect. I try to make my rides during
the week (Retired here) and don't have so many different vehicles to worry about.

Those bicyclists were scary flying down the declines at 45 mph...afraid if one wiped out I would run over them.

I just rode up to Helen from Watkinsville/Athens on Sunday with 2 other couples and their sons. This is the best time of year to ride up in that area.

bendusty, Your right it is sure getting to be a great time to ride the mountains. A couple friends of
mine are heading out Thursday to Maggie Valley. I'm really looking forward to riding the "Blue Ridge Parkway". Helen is a great place to go for the weekend even though they can get a little expensive up there. Nothing like sitting in the International Cafe watching the folks tube down the Chattahoochie.
