I hear there's a telethon planned. Probably will be in Scottsdale.

As far as grass and water. Not all grass is real, although it may appear to be. Water is from the Colorado River and STRICTLY regulated. The SW could teach the rest of the Country how to REALLY conserve water.

Not all of it comes from the Colorado. The Salt, Verde and Gila rivers are all dammed upstream of Phoenix and a lot of our water comes from Arizona watershed. We have a 3-year supply of water in a number of reservoirs right now. Our parks and golf courses and schools are all irrigated with recycled water.

A lot of homes here have desert landscape and use minimal water, which is the case with our house. In places like Salt Lake City, also in a drought, xeriscape is not only discouraged, it is against the law. That doesn't make sense.

Being from Michigan, someone is always wanting to tap into our water to have a green lawn. Just irritates me. And yes, it irritates me that people here (in Michigan) water their lawns for the same reason. I live out in the stix, where if my lawn goes dormant because of lack of rain, that's fine with me, I don't need to keep up with the Jone's.
