I'm going to start looking for some quality riding Chaps. I'm also looking for quality tank bib that I can either put my wallet or cell phone or both into pouches that come with some of them.
Anyone buy from someone they trust that has quality leather? Seems that eveyone that has got a great deal ended up being less that thrilled about the quality of the hide used. Links? thanks, BD

This place is near DeadWood SD. I'll be going there during the rally. When I was through there some years ago he made custom leathers from elk.

Some guys have ordered stuff off of leatherup.com. After you order from them, they send you a 'preferred customer' card for 10% off all your future orders.
I got a pair of chaps from them, but it is not really premo-quality stuff. It's the same old thing, you get what you pay for. If you want one pair of chaps that's going to last twenty years, you probably wouldn't want to be purchasing from leatherup.com. If you need something cheap and in a hurry to get the job done, they're OK. |

This won't help you much BD, but I buy my leathers locally from Joeta's Motorcycle Leathers in Mesa.
She has a website: http://joetasleather.com/ I tried buying a leather jacket online and the results weren't good. Too many variations in sizing, etc. I'm not an off the rack fit, though. I bought my chaps and my "traditional" leather jacket from Joeta.

For something like that I always go to a local bike show or swap meet where I can handle the item and try them on for correct fit.
There is a local buy here in SD that carries great stuff. I haven't bought leather but bought a helmet from leatherup.com and I can tell you their return/exchange policy is top notch if something doesn't fit right. |

You won't find better leather apparel than Fox Creek leather. Lifetime warranty all all of there apparel. I own the vest, chaps and classic jacket. the hides are thick and primo #1. great folks to deal with if you have returns for sizing. they sent me out a bigger jacket before i sent the old one back.
