WOW, I saw at least three different set-ups, not sure what I was supposed to be seeing. I have the 9 inch K&N filters both sides witht eh 1600 numbers on the covers. Works for me and cheap.

Very nice! I'm interested to see how clean the filter stays. It's not a K&N and so it's not washable right?

The left side looks GREAT! I'm going to be doing the 7" K&N mod soon and I haven't decided what I want to do on the left side. Where did you buy the thing you have on the left side?

Also, what did you use for a back plate?

Mark,
You did a superb job on that my friend, and I'm glad I could be a part of it.

Cheers

Thanks Joe. I appreciated all the communication as well.

Utah, this is an APC washable filter. They come in white, red, and blue. Each filter comes with charging oil. $22 at Advance Auto Parts. The "ornament" on the left side is a Kuryakyn horn cover.

Doc, looks to me like he had a left side, maybe duel sides 9"x2" set up once.

Then with Chuckster's 7" single adapter installed the APC set up amd yanked the cross over tube.

Seems he added a chrome bling cover on the left, which may or not contain something.

Next the reed valve bodies and all the junk that goes with them should come off. And so he can but another item from Chuckster. That would be coasters!

Besides the new look, was there any other reason to make the change? Doe it perform any better?

Hell yeah! if you have a set up like V&H baggers, a TFI or Cobra chip, and let it breath one way or another, you will get more engine preformance.

Looks to me like you have V&H baggers, but i can't see the Fuel mods if they are there or not.

If you have a caddman like set up this set up will be about the same, but if you are running a stock intake set up it will be very different.

I had done the Cadmann mod. Then decided to go with full intake on the right, remove the crossover tube, and leave the left as decorative just for a balanced look. But, those 9" filters are HUGE!!!! I got over that look and wanted something different. So, in actuality, there is no difference in performance from my first Cadmann mod to current. The pipes are Cobra true-duals, and there's a TFI under the left side cover. Compared to stock, the performance is improved.

I definitely recognize the poor engineering on the stock intake. I was more or less asking what the difference was between having the two 9" filters and just the one filter on the right side.
