That is cheap compared to the cost of splitting the case. Beleive me I know about the difference on this one. Make sure you follow his instructions to the LETTER. My judges gear failed after 10000 miles and was done exactly how he said to do it.

Aron, I strongly suggest that you check see if a steel oil pump gear has been installed in your bike. At your mileage the plastic gear could go at any time and would be a very costly repair.

JOG are an amazing piece of well thought out craftsmanship. A lot of work went in to that gear, and they are certainly not cheap to make, with that much machining involved. It is not some piece of stamped out chinese crap, it is a very nice piece that serves a very grave need.

Agreed. You guys have been really lucky. Back when they first discovered this, they were tracking it. Most POGs were failing at around 14,000 miles on average.

I did mine 6,000 miles ago. I pulled the cover after 4,000 miles just to make sure everything was as it should be. It all looked real good.

You can. There's quite a bit of work involved in taking the side cover off though. It's not just removing a few screws. Read through the procedure several times so you know what you're up against before doing the work. oil pump gear instructions. I read through it at least 20 times before I ordered the gear.

Here's his contact info. Cell phone is the best bet. He can't always answer right away so leave a message if it goes to voice mail.

Good price & here are my pics

$250 is a good price I paid $300. Just installed it and it's working great. I also added the judges washers and the mean streak spring. Since I had the case off I figured I might as well do everything. Makes a big difference. Let me know if you have any questions while installing.

My '99 was done by the dealership in November of '08. It was probably one of the last that was done on thier dime. It was in for new tires and the oil light went on while it was there. Got lucky.
