I read Idaho High Plains post of Wow about a certain number of members being online at the time of his post.

During the past 24 hours we had 15 staff members, 282 members, 434 guests and 6 invisible users. My question or questions why are this many guests not becoming members? How in the hell can you be an invisible user? Just something I wanted to know. That invisible one still gets me. What are they afraid of?

We can only guess about 'guests' so why not do so?

My guess is that they are from the VR forum and will someday soon be full fledged members of KawaNOW.

Invisible users, my guess would be ghosts?

You may also notice that if you do not sign in, parts of this forum are not available to you, or do not show up as existing.

Invisible user = The supporters that the Dems and Obama keep refereing to that wanted them to proceed.
You can count them but cant show them.

That's funny and I would not be surprised either. I am still a VR (Volusia Riders) member. I put a lot of miles on my Vol and loved it. At a rally in '08 I showed up with my Nomad and since then, quite a few of my VR friends have gone to Nomads.

Just because you change bikes does not mean you change friends.

I'll admit I still visit the VR forum daily, even though it's been 2-1/2 years since I traded my '05 C50T. I think a lot of the ghosts are from the Delphi Vulcan Forum, too.

The more guests the better. Every member we have started out as a guest. There's a place on your profile where you can select to be "invisible." That just means that when you're logged in the only one's who can see that you're online are staff members. I guess some people are just shy?

I'd imagine most of the invisible member are those who did a google search that directed them here. They saw it was or wasn't what they wanted and then took off. Probably didn't even notice what website or forum they were on. Probably didn't even want to come here, but got misdirected.

Well guys, I think I understand a little better than I did before. Bob, I didn't realize you could sign in a be invisible. Don't understand with all the privacy isssues these days. I guess everyone except maybe me and you have privacy clauses. I could care less where people know I have been or where I am going or what I am doing. Ask and I will let you know for sure.

Actually Alabama, any registered member can make their login invisible. Just go to your profile and check it. Then when you login, your name will not show in the list.......except to me and other staff members.

I chuckle when I see all of the people that checked their invisibility, but they still show up when I look at them. I don't really know what they are trying to accomplish, but if that's what they want, they have that capability.

KawaNOW seems to have alot of guests....some turn to members later, but there are many guests that probably used to be members or are from other groups that want to come in and read all the information we have about Nomads, but don't want to be a part.

The staff and I have talked in the past about making the KawaNOW forum a closed forum, in other words, no guests, just registered members only. But, we feel that would really serve no purpose.

I wonder if everyone doesn't first count as a Guest until their login information is supplied, unless it is set to automatic as mine is from home. When I login elsewhere, first I'm a Guest until type in my login. So, there could be some double-counting in the daily users. The number of Guests relative to Members would really get bumped up if a member logs in manually multiple times a day. Then again, this could be all wrong and their really are that many Guests.

Trip, you made the correct decision in not closing the forum. This way visitors can see a little bit of what we are about and decide to join.

CJ, I'm still a VR member. I started out there making adapter kits to mount case guards and hiway bars after forward controls were installed and I still sell a lot of them. Great problem solver. To tell you the truth, that is what inspired me to come up with the jack adapter for our Nomads.
