My new Nomad has a real low mellow sound out on the highway. It is almost too boring. If I put on Vance and Hines pipes what must I do too the fuel injection system since there are no carbs to to rejet? And does it give a noticeable boost in power? It already seems pretty darn powerful compared to the 1100 Shadow I previously owned.

Hey Nomadwest,
If you change only your pipes you dont have to remap your bike. You will not notice any HP gains by doing this. How do i know because I put my pipes on before I did anything. Plus from what i have read from all over the forums and my buddys no remapping is needed for pipes only. So just slap them on and your off and going,Now just know that V&H have always had an isseu witht he left pipe not fiitng on right (to tight) and you may have to file or flair out the muffler to get it to fit. i knwo i had to do that so ahve many many others. V&H is aware of this issue but seems to care less about. But other than that i love my V&H bagger pipes. I also went from a shadow spirit 1100 to my nomad.... ;) |

I changed to V&H on my '05 Nomad and didn't have to do anything else. great deep sound. You will get close to the same mileage(I do) but the popping on decleration is going to occur. Yes I had problems slipping both mufflers on to the pipes. had to dremel down the inner weld a little and slid right on.

Do the V&H Bagger mufflers eliminate the infamous "goat bag" or do they just slip on after the coverter?
