Beartooth Rally

The Beartooth Rally is in Red Lodge this weekend. Going down on Sat. We'll go down through Columbus and Absaroakee into Red Lodge. Then over the Beartooth Pass and on into Cody,Wy for the night. Then on Sun we'll go west out of Cody and through Yellowstone on the way home.
Supposed to be a hot one ( mid 90's)(and yes, that's hot to me) .

We've done the Beartooth Pass twice but never during the rally. I can imagine thousands of riders will show up so ride safe and stay cool.

We went last year too. Hope the tar snakes on Chief Joseph Highway are better this year too. Last year they were horrible. It was just hot enough to make them really greasy.

I've got to get back there, rode it last year on the way to the VBA rally in Canmore and never bought a patch as I wasn't wearing a vest at the time. Now that I wear a vest I want to pick up a patch to go with the ones from the Dragon this year

That's a long way for a patch.

Always looking for a reason to ride :) Besides I need to ride to Idaho at some point to color in that dang state after riding all around it but never in it on two separate trips!

You gotta cover the following roads:
  • U.S. Route 12, Lolo Pass, Idaho and Montana
  • HWY 93 in Idaho: Say from Bear Lake, UT, via Garden City, Montpelier, Pocatello, Atomic City to Salmon and Darby or the opposite direction.
If you like steaks, try the Shady Nook Restaurant & Lounge, 501 Riverfront Drive, Salmon, Idaho, http://www.theshadynook.com/

In the Twin Falls (ID) area, there are pretty neat roads as well.

Thumbs Up

I use to live in Billings. Red Lodge is one of my favorite places. Is the Red Lodge Saloon still there. I remember they had great food there.
