Darkside Question

Was wondering what feels different with a car tire?

I got mine installed at local Kaw dealer dunlop SP 5000 195/60/16 cost me $35.

I have noticed it takes more push pull on handle bars to turn. anything else I need to look for?

A lot of the handling will depend on the tire pressure you have in the CT. Yes, a little more pressure is required to turn the bike, but that's not much different then changing from a Nomad to a Roadstar or Harley. Each bike has it's own handling characteristics.

Believe me, you won't notice it after a few hundred miles.
You will notice that you will stop a lot faster then the stock tire will, and the curves will be a lot smoother then the bike tire.

I have over 12,000 miles on my SP5000 and so far I have only found one fault in a CT... you don't want to be the one behind me when we are riding in the rain! The roostertail can be a bitch! ::)

+1 on that rooster tail. I rode behind Flavor in the rain and didn't need a shower for a week.

Flavor and I both ride the SP 5000, and so took turns watching, on a wet ride last Fall.

Darkside Question

When I'm riding in a group and it starts to rain, I move myself to the rear of the pack out of courtesy. It's like following a Jet Ski.

Since when have you ever rode with courtesy???

Seriously, I notice from time to time uneven freeway surfaces can cause the back end to wonder or move around a little. that's only on 10% of some of the messed up freeways in California. Since most car tires have parallel rain grooves around the entire circumference of the tire those grooves can catch rain grooves and ridges that are carved into the pavement.

You do have to use a little more "counter-steer" as others have stated. A couple of other things to be aware of is when the pavement is two different heights, and your crossing from one to the other, and if your stopping on a banked road. The tire will want to sit flat on the road surface, and if it's banked pretty good, and if your not ready for it, you could end up with the bike on it's side. That's about the only things I've noticed, and if your aware of them, before long it becomes second nature.
