any idea on where to get a trunk for a 1600?

I am looking for an aftermarket trunk for my 2005 Nomad 1600. I saw an ad for a KTP Series extra large locking motorcycle touring pack with CHROME TOP RACK and LARGE WRAP AROUND BACKREST and wondered if anyone knows if it fits - seems to need a 9inch plate - or if there is a better option?

That looks like a Mutazu trunk. Chinese made, but the KTP seems to be better than the others. Some are pure junk. The KTP is a knock off of the Harley King Tour Pack. Get yourself a Wompus rack to mount it on and you're good to go.

Use a Harley Tour Pak, with a Wompus rack, its a very solid combination.

I have seen several Nomads with a Yamaha Venture trunk on them.
They look good on the bike IMO.
You might google to see if you can get one in decent shape at a reasonable price.

I have a voyager trunk on mine. Tons of room. But make note if you ride 2-up a lot. My trunk opens towards the front of the bike, and is inconvenient a lot fo the time. If you ride with a passenger often or pack gear on the passenger seat, look for a trunk that opens to the side

Check ebay or the local Kijiji site. You'll usually find used HD Tourpaks and many other OEM ones for sale but prices can range from pretty decent to ridiculously high. There are deals to be had if you are patient.

I was looking for a Harley trunk when I stumbled on an '84 Venture trunk that you can see in my signature pic. It is on a Wompus rack.

Paint can be expensive if you get it done professionally, but I am happy with my set up. The Dodge paint is pretty close, and much better than the blue from the previous owner and much better than paying Color Rite prices.

Good luck with your search.
