I would rather pay a few dollars more and get the Grasshopper because it's removable and the shape of the pad matches better.

Thanks Zoom, removable or the shape isn't a big deal to me I am probably going solo & even if I don't I never ride 2 up...the wife won't get on the bike ever! Also I sent them an email offering $65 and they are willing to take that including shipping!

It looks ok, but I would suspect that it most likely will NOT hit your back exactly where you want it. Since it is non-adjustable, and depending on what seat you have and/or stock handle bars with or without risers, all determines where your positioned. Looks like you already have the Fire & Steel style adjustable backrest ( I do also Markland), I fab./welded my own solo backrest bracket that fit where I wanted and I used my pad/arm from my Markland, one bolt takes it on or off. I mostly keep mine set-up for 2-up riding, but on occasion it is cool to go solo. I'll send ya a pic

Thanks Vince, I sold the F&S backrest because I am probably going solo & I didn't like the chrome ring. What did you use to plug the holes where the seat bracket goes on the rear?

I bought some of those plastic push in caps at Auto Zone. I think you can get them in chrome too. Mine are black to match the black bike.

I did the same, used some plastic black plugs from ACE Hardware. But if you are primarily going to set your Nomad up as a solo, I would invest in a cool fender bib of some kind, I think the bibs would cover the holes.

Yes a Mustang bib covers the holes up just fine.

UPDATE, I ordered & recieved the backrest, it is IMHO very cheesey, poorly made, and it would need a lot of modification to the bracket to even be able lean back on it. I am sending it back, guess I'll have to break down & spend the bux on the CWI backrest....

I bought a Sissy bar from these guys for a 900 classic.. Was good for the money. Welds were a little messy.

Can't go wrong with a Grasshopper. Not fully adjustable but well made and good price.
