There was a fella that made custom speedo dials, but I havn't seen it in a couple years or more.
I prefer miles over km. my last two bikes were like that.
My Nomad actually had the km showing in small numbers inside the larger numbers on the dial.
Welcome from Ontario! where abouts are you from?

I doubt you can do anything with the digital readouts, unless you replace the unit.

If it is a US bike it will have both already............mph on the outside and km's on the inside. At least my 05 Classic does.

OOP's.......I believe the odo has the ability to read km's also. Check your OM and it should say how to change it to kilometers.

My 2010 Nomad can be changed to read KM's. If you did not get the owners book with the bike look on the 1500-1600 Nomad board there is one there that will tell you.

Hi "swede".... welcome to VBA.. Make sure you introduce yourself at the Western Canada Regional Grp.board ,
http://vulcanbagger.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=51
I'm out in Langley, so not far away... "hammer" is in Abbotsford and there are a few others scattered around the lower mainland and Richmond. Be sure to get hold of us sometime for a ride and coffee.

There is a guy on the net that sells the odometer face plates if you go that route. Not sure if the '08 can flip to Km from Miles ...I know the 2010 Voyager can ,,,I have an 06' Nomad so I know I don't have the option. I went with a different face plate that shows MPH and KPH But when I ride in the U.S. of A. I flip the GPS to MPH and that works for me.

I quick conversion that won't hurt your head too much is to divide by 5 and multiply by 8.

ie... 25MPH = 25/5=5 5x8=40KPH

The same can be done in reverse...
40KPH = 40/8=5 5x5=25MPH

That is good to know. Thanks.

What I find easier to do this.

ie 40mph 40x1.6= 64 kmph (aprox)
ie 60kph 60x.6 = 36mph (aprox)

If I remember correctly my 2009 Nomad could have the odometer adjusted to read in KM and the MPG could be changed to MPLitre or MPImperial gallon. Check your owners manual. It's there.

My bike is in miles as was the last one also, I'm so used to converting it in my head that its almost instant for me. I prefer it in mph rather than km.

Funny what you get used to. Cars Trucks and the last two bikes have been in kilometers, but two of my snowmobiles being US made are in miles. I switch back and forth, doesn't bother me. Every thing has been metric here for at least 30 years, but tell me a vehicle uses X amount of liters per 100km (that"s the way they state it here) and it means nothing to me. I'm still old school in that department and have to go by miles per gallon for it to be meaningful.

If I ever become Prime Minister I'd change it back in a second.

But would you go back to Imperial MPG'S or US MPG'S, Mr. Prime Minister?
