October's cold has arrived here...

October's cold has arrived here... currently a brisk 50... but with the wind feels like 40.

Tomorrow's high is 49 with high winds and lot's of rain...

If this keeps-up... I'll be done for the year -- although I might ride to near Milwaukee to pick-up a new trailer for the Spyder (3+ hour ride there and back.)

A dealer there is willing to sell it for a great price. If I ride it there he'll hook-up the hitch and off I'll be heading back to put it and the motorcycle into storage for the winter.

We'll see...

I assume that just my existence made your life brutal this year...

If so... I intend to make your life brutal for years to come!!

It seems the worm has turned. 80s daytime, 60s nighttime. Maybe even nighttime 50s next week. Brrr. Really Greg, if you're looking for sympathy you know you will not find it here. ;)

We now have temps going into the high 20 at night but back into the 60s in the day time. I can ride in that but it will not last long.

Stan... LOL! Yeah... given that you lived here I couldn't expect much sympathy... but that's just not right! You should provide some sympathy since you know the torture of winters here!

CJ... no fair bragging about 100 degree weather when the rest of us are facing cold weather. I'll be out there this winter... you can be sure of it.

Usranger... I added a Spyder RT-SE5 to my toys August 31st. I still have my motorcycle. I will have a motorcycle as long as my health allows me to do so. I really bought it with the anticipation my wife will ride it. She says she'll get licensed this coming spring. I may then switch my motorcycle out for another bike then since I won't need a bagger as much.;)

Gene... I am amazed you are getting frost in Alabama this early. I do know that Alabama can have cold-spurts since I used to go down there quite a bit several years ago (Gulf Shores). I'll trade your winter weather any day for what we see here in the Rockford, IL area. We sit right where the air-stream comes down from the north and then abruptly turns back north -- which sets us up for fairly large amounts of snow -- but not as much as Buffalo, NY ;)

It was 40 this morning and an overcast and windy 48 today. I still made it out. I want to put a few miles before the new year. Hopefully the ice and snow will hold off.

It seems like our weather patterns have been the same all summer long Greg. It is about the same here, I will have to start thinking about putting the bike away for the winter also. I will ride until they put down the first layer of salt. The heated grips and seat are awesome, I could easily ride all year if it wasn't for the snow. I rode 6 hours both days last weekend, highest temp was 58, damn heat wave! I knew you couldn't resist getting one of those cool trailers for your CanAm.

Hey Ponch, no such thing as a "little salt" in the Twin Cities. I usually ride into the second week in November and am back on the road sometime in March. I need those few months off to rest the bike, myself and the wallet. Some guys up here buy Urals with sidecars so they have two wheel drive and ride all year long. If you are not familiar with the Ural do a google search, very interesting story.
