1500 nomad vs 1500 classic

Does anybody know if the fairing mounts on the 1500 nomad are the same dimensions and mounting places as the 1500 classic?
www.tsukayu.com has a fairing for the 1500 classic. I am pretty sure I read where the 1600 nomad and the 1600 classics are the same, was curious about the 1500.
thanks for the help, Bill :)

Bill
Gadget gave up the answer for you on another forum. He says:

Fairings designed for Classics rarely, if ever, fit a Nomad and vice versa. The issue is with fork spacing. The Nomad forks are 1" wider apart than the Classic.

Thanks for the help.

And as far as the bike, I will get one soon. Thought it would be okay to hang out and do some research.

You may have to go with a windshield on the Classic. It should be cheaper ( good thing!) and adjustable. I really compared buying a Classic 1500 and putting on leather bags and a windshield verses the Nomad. In our opinion, the Nomad was better for us. 2005, Black & Silver two tone, 1600 vs 1500..... the list goes on.
A great friend of mine has a ZRX 1200 and it is a amazing bike. Yeah, the ZX14 has more on top, but the ZRX has SO much punch in the middle that it's all I can take. It is comfy, fast, great looking, awesome handling, good on gas, quiet, ... the list goes on.
We see people convert sport bikes to sport tourers a lot. I would start with a ZRX and do MINOR mods and still have a better bike for less money.
Good luck with your decisions on the Classic and the ZRX.
Don

1500 nomad vs 1500 classic

Thanks rflnomad,

I am definitely keeping the ZRX, but I am looking at either a 1500 Nomad or 1600 Nomad. I am trying to research batwing fairings for both bikes.
I have found only the Hoppe quadzilla and the Premeux fairings for the 1500 Nomad. Pretty pricey to me.

Tsukayu fairings shows one for the 1600 classic and one that will fit a 1500 classic. Thats why I started this thread to see how much of a difference there was between a 1500 Nomad and a 1500 classic. and the 1600 Nomad and 1600 classic The Tsukayu fairings are about half the cost of the other two.

Wide open emailed me and said that were in the process of modifyng the 1600 Nomad brackets to fit the 1500 Nomad, and to check back in 30 days and see if were finished. They are also about have the price of the first two.

I am just trying to get all this done now, so I can figure the costs of a fairing with the costs of a used Nomad to see if I can afford a 1500 or 1600 Nomad. I also want to purchase the Roadhouse doolies as soon as I get the bike, so I am figuring in that cost too.
I am hoping that what ever bike I get is already set up with an aftermarket exhaust and the fuel injector module and that hopefully I can sell the exhaust here on the board to recoup some cash.
So for now I check ebay everyday and walnecks and cycletrader a couple times a week to see whats available and what prices they are going for.
I am hoping to have the card and a couple other bills paid off by summer and I will make a purchase. Till then I will just lurk around and gather info.

Also tell your buddy I am Hotrod65 on the ZRXOA site.

Later, Bill
