Pull the speakers and the little storage boxes below them, you will have all the access you need. If that don't work for you then pull the fairing. You can have them out in about 15 minutes.
Pulling the fairing is a whole lot of unnecessary work, I've done it both ways. First time I followed the directions, then I realized there was a better way, for me.
